Distillery District

What was once the largest distillery in the world, evolved into one of the best-preserved Victorian industrial architectural sites in North America. More than 40 heritage buildings comprise this pedestrian-only assemblage of shops, galleries and restaurants located on the former site of the Gooderham and Worst Distillery.

The Distillery District is the undisputed champion of charm. Over 600,000 historic brick pavers were purchased from Cleveland to create the Distillery’s recognizably iconic pedestrian walkways. Today you will find only a handful of modern condominiums that have been permitted to rise-up in the much sought-after area. If you’re able to purchase a piece of real estate in this neighbourhood, you will undoubtedly enjoy the numerous high-end retail stores, restaurants, cafes, and artisan establishments that occupy the districts old world streets.

Some of the not to be missed attractions include the annual Christmas Market which hosts more than 700,000 visitors each holiday season and the weekly weekend Local produce and flower market. There's endless entertainment options such as Soul Pepper Theatre, The Young Centre, the weekly weekend Busker Series & a plethora of inspiring galleries like ARTA and All In The Wild.

The food scene is plentiful and pretty prestigious. We’d suggest checking out the tasting menu at El Catrin and grabbing a spot on their heated patio. In addition to their authentic and calibre food, the picturesque patio located in the midst of the Distillery District makes for quite the enjoyable dining destination. Grab a pint at Mill St. Brew Pub, the perfect spot to cool down after spending the day wandering the cobblestone streets and shopping. Wildly Delicious is a tremendous place to grab an elevated, quick bite to eat. Try the parmesan crusted grilled cheese on sourdough with a tangy home-made pickle or their compote, bacon, and cheddar bagel. Really anything on the menu is soulfully satisfying, you can even shop their eclectic store while you wait for your food.

The offerings of the Distillery District could take up an entire novel, we’d encourage you to visit the area and give us a call if you’d like to learn more about the housing options currently available.
